AIKEN, SC -- Clarence Charles "Whitey" Conklin, 83, died Sunday, July 8, 2012 at his residence in Aiken.

Mr. Conklin was born in Buffalo, NY. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Hamburg, NY. Whitey and his late beloved wife Marilyn M. Conklin, who preceded him in death on June 21, 2012, were married for 63 years. He was a former member of the Eden, NY Volunteer Police Department and was a founding member of the Eden Volunteer EMT Squad. The Conklins moved to Aiken 3 years ago from Tyngsboro, MA. Whitey loved bowling, fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include 5 children, Diane M. Conklin of Aiken, SC, Kevin C. Conklin and wife Doreen of Aiken, SC, Brian M. Conklin and partner Tom O'Toole of New York, NY, Robin M. Yeck and husband William of Blue Bell, PA, Lorri C. Davy and husband Brian E of Harvard, MA; 8 grandchildren, Justin N. Conklin, Brandon M. Conklin, Connor C. Davy, Jordan E. Davy, Bethany N. Harrison, Casey D. Pasinski, Nicholas C. Paskinski and Eric M. Conklin; a great-grandson, Mitchell; and a sister-in-law, Shirley A. Mandale of Wayne, PA.

Funeral services will be private.

The family sincerely thanks United Hospice of Aiken, ResCare Home Care, private caregivers, Susan Wayt, and Michele Bunker and the family’s friends.
